The Ashford Allotment summer show was held on Saturday August 11th at the Towers School and despite the difficult growing season we enjoyed the exhibits entered even though the number of entires were reduced this year.
Thanks to our judge Janine Doulton for her time and expertise in judging the entries.
The most entries were tomatoes which have done well in the above average temperatures this year but many usual entries like beans and potatoes were very affected by the weather.
Congratulations to Melvin Head for the best in show for an exceptional set of peas and to Brian Stamp for a best in class for his tomatoes.
The judge especially commended the birthday card made by Benjamin Salmon .
Certificates were also awarded for the Allotment judging competition. Thanks to MyPrintingPal on Station Road for printing this year’s certificates.
Congratulations to Brian Young at Musgrove Farm for the overall winner of all plots in Ashford and Glenice Dowsett runner up. Stefan Heathfield was awarded the best site rep plot and Tony Fagg and Jill Fuggle were joint runners up .
Cryol was given the Bob Stubbs Trophy for the overall best site .
Thanks to all who gave their time to make the show a successful and enjoyable occasion.
